What is HTML?
HTML (HyperText Markup Language) is the standard language for creating web pages. It structures web content using elements and tags.
Basic Structure of an HTML Document

Explanation of Structure:
<!DOCTYPE html>
β Declares the document as HTML5.<html>
β The root element of the webpage.<head>
β Contains metadata like character encoding, title, and viewport settings.<meta charset="UTF-8">
β Ensures correct character encoding.<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0">
β Makes the webpage responsive.<title>
β Defines the title of the webpage (shown in the browser tab).<body>
β Contains the visible content of the webpage.<h1>
β Defines a heading.<p>
β Defines a paragraph.<a>
β Defines a hyperlink.
Common HTML Elements:
<h1> to <h6>
: Headings (h1 is the largest, h6 is the smallest)<p>
: Paragraph<a href="URL">
: Link<img src="image.jpg" alt="Description">
: Image<ul>
and<ol>
: Unordered and ordered lists<li>
: List item<table>
: Table<div>
: Division or section<span>
: Inline container
